Review of Wix Website Builder

Welcome to Website Planet

Today, I’ll be showing you how to create your own stunning website in no more than 15 minutes using Wix.com. Wix is a powerful website builder where you can create your own professional-looking website using only a template and a drag-and-drop system. It’s that easy!

Getting Started with Wix

To start, navigate to the Wix website by clicking the link below and opening the Wix page in a new tab in your browser. Once you reach Wix’s elegant and simple screen, click on the "Start Now" button in the middle of the page.

Signing Up for Wix

The page that opens is the sign-up page, where you can sign up either by entering and confirming your email address and password or by using your Facebook or Google account. Linking your social media accounts with Wix allows for a quicker sign-up process in the future. In either case, you’re not committing to anything, and you will not be asked for any credit card details.

Creating Your First Website

After you’ve created your account, a new page will open asking you to answer a few questions about yourself. You can skip this part by clicking "Skip" in the lower right-hand corner and proceed with creating your first website.

Choosing a Template

You will arrive at the template section, our starting point, where you can choose from nearly 200 templates. These are arranged in over 15 categories, with each category having several subcategories. There are three filters available that can display the newest templates, the most popular ones, and the blank templates, where you can create a website from scratch or build upon the bare minimum design. Alternatively, you can search at the top of the left sidebar for a keyword or phrase if you want to be more specific.

Building Your Website

In this case, I’ll be building a photographer’s website, so I’ll select "Photography" and then choose the "Commercial and Editorial" subcategory. On the right, you’ll see a selection of different templates you can view or edit by scrolling down. I’ll select the "Online Photos" template as an example that best suits my needs.

Editing Your Website

Once you’ve chosen a template, you can edit it by clicking on the "Edit This Site" button on the pop-up screen or at the top right of the screen. I’ll choose the pop-up to get a better look at the website. The upper left corner offers a preview of the website in both desktop and mobile versions.

Modifying Your Website

Once you’ve previewed the templates you like, it’s time to do some modifications of your own. Although there are quite a few appealing templates, I’m sticking with my original choice, so I’ll close all the tabs except the "Online Photos" template and use it as a basis for my website.

Adding Content and Elements

To add content and elements to your website, click on the "Menus and Pages" button on the left. You can add a new page or modify existing ones. You can also drag and drop elements into position and edit them to suit.

Adding a Logo and Background

To add a logo to each page, click on the "Plus" icon and select "Image." You can then pick up the upload option that best suits you. You can also add a background by clicking on the "Background" button and selecting a different background.

Publishing Your Website

When you are fully satisfied with the look of your website, press the "Publish" button, and your website will go online with the address you created at the beginning. You can also create multiple websites, each with a different name and template, to manage the sites.

Conclusion

In this crash course, we’ve covered how to create a free website with Wix in no more than 15 minutes. Wix is an extremely powerful website creation tool that allows you to have a website live in 15 minutes or so. Click on the link below and go to the Wix start page for more information.

Free Website vs. Premium Website

While Wix offers a free website creation tool, there are some limitations to the free service. For instance, once you publish your free site, you will notice that there is a Wix subdomain in the address. Additionally, the free service features a small banner at the top and bottom of the page promoting Wix. To overcome these shortcomings and offer many additional benefits, including extra bandwidth and storage for more high-quality content on your website, 24/7 online bookings, and premium support, you can upgrade to one of the premium plans.

Wix Review

In conclusion, Wix is an excellent website builder that offers a wide range of templates and a drag-and-drop system, making it easy to create a professional-looking website in no time. Whether you’re a photographer, entrepreneur, or just someone who wants to create a website, Wix is definitely worth considering.
