You want to build your own website but don’t know where to start? I’m here with a quick Wix Website Tutorial and Review. Now, it’s no secret that Wix Website Builder has mixed reviews. After watching this guide, you will understand why this is happening

And will know enough about Wix to create a proper website. Before going into the tutorial on how to build a Wix website, first, let’s see if you should even consider it in the first place. With Wix, creating a website for e-commerce or business is actually not a bad idea.

It goes as far as allowing you to add your own code. For more advanced users, there will be plenty of options and tools to play with. What if you are a beginner or just want a blog or business landing page, though? Probably the whole process might look difficult at first.

The Wix website editor offers a lot from the get-go, which means that you might get blown away with all these settings you don’t need or understand. However, if you have your goal set high and want to learn how to build websites properly, Wix is a perfect place to start or learn.

Now, there’s a thing about Wix that doesn’t really sit well with me. The average website loading time in 2023 is around 10 seconds, while Google recommends optimizing your site to load in under three seconds for the best SEO results. I’ve tested loading several different designs with Wix.

The load times were between 6 and 11 seconds. Not perfect, to say the least, and it seems the more add-ons or features you add to the site, the more it chugs while loading. However, the biggest part of your site loads in around two or three seconds. For the user, it feels way faster.

Overall, though, Wix is a good option unless you want something extremely simple. In that case, I’ll be honest, there are better options. But now, let’s see how to build a Wix website with my step-by-step Wix tutorial. Account creation is nothing out of the ordinary.

I like that I can connect not only with my email, but with my Facebook or Gmail accounts. It makes things quick and smooth. Just make sure your social accounts have two-factor authentication and a strong, unique password before that. A quick side note,

Make sure you are signing up by using our links from the description. That way, you get the best price possible. Anyhow, back to the tutorial on how to make a Wix website. Now, there is a newly introduced AI text support. After you answer a few questions about your website,

It sets up a personalized dashboard that should fit your needs. Once that’s done, click on Design the Site. Next, you will have to choose whether you want to use Wix site builder to make things quicker or choose a more customizable option and edit a design template. Let’s choose the simpler option.

The first step after this is to review and edit your info, but don’t worry, you can just add the basic info and move on. Next, choose the design you like and wait for generated options. Again, choose what you think looks the best, and after a few seconds,

You will have the bones of your website ready. From here on out, you can add various elements, pages, and all that you desire for your website. This can look a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry too much about it, though. There’s plenty of Wix help once you try to figure things out.

Working with sections is the best way to start since basically all the elements are already there. For example, you can choose a price list and just drag where you want it to be on your website. It’s really that easy. Working with elements is slightly more challenging.

You see, it allows you to add whatever individual things you like wherever you want to. For instance, you can add a random shape or a text box and place it anywhere on the website. Don’t be afraid to play around with it. You can always just CTRL Z your way back,

So you can’t really break your site or do permanent damage. By the way, if you can’t find a tool or feature, there’s a search bar that will help you with that. If you want to post a new blog post, go to my business tab.

Truth be told, there are more complete tools for blog posts on some other website builders, but Wix has plenty of customizations as well. Anyhow, this tab has more than just blog posts. There are options for an online store, bookings, events, and much more. But to add a blog post,

Just press on Add New Form and then select Blog and Add to Site. There are plenty of other tools, whether you want to build a website for business or just a personal project. For instance, I like how straightforward sending marketing emails with Wix is.

There are ready templates that can be easily edited to your liking. You can find this under the Marketing and SEO Tools tab by clicking on Email Marketing. There you can select the design you like and edit or have AI generate it for you. Now, to get your website found on the internet,

You will have to set up search engine optimization. For many users, this is very confusing, but SEO is an important part of any website, so don’t get scared. It’s easier to set up than you might think, as there is a Wix SEO Wizard for that.

Just click on this Start Setup button and it will start. After answering a few questions about your website and adding a few keywords, the basics are set. There is a lot more to learn on how to create a Wix website. This was just a Wix Basics tutorial,

But it should be enough to get a solid start. At first, you might want to look around with a free plan, but if you want a serious website, you will need one of the premium plans with the options for personal websites and businesses. Let’s see what are the plan options.

The free plan is very limited by having only 500 megabytes of storage. Besides, your website will be hosted on a subdomain. Maybe some of you can live with that, but in the long term, you will probably need more Wix tools than the free version can offer.

The light plan is the most basic besides the free one. I would only recommend it if you don’t need much storage space and just want a simple landing page or a small blog. Like all other plans, it has a free domain for a year. The core plan offers more,

Way more storage space and includes basic site analytics as well as basic e-commerce. But the plan that gives the most value for your money has to be the business plan. The price barely changes from the core plan, and you get double the storage space and number of collaborators.

The other plans are more for big business sites, so there’s healthy selection of options. By the way, I’d suggest choosing the Wix plan through our links in the description. It benefits both of us. You get the best price to build your website, and we get to grow our channel.

Overall, I like Wix, especially for business or e-commerce. While it’s not for everyone due to the many tools and advanced options it has to offer, it’s still a great website builder for beginners that are eager to learn. It allows it to build a truly professional website, even if it is your first one.
