We’ll be using the WordPress platform, which is one of the most popular website builders today. WordPress is free, easy to use, and has a vast array of templates and plugins available. According to Statista, 43% of the internet uses WordPress.
Choosing a Theme
To create a professional website, we’ll need to choose a theme. We’ll be using the Astra theme, which is one of the most popular and widely used themes on WordPress. To install the theme, go to the WordPress dashboard, click on "Appearance" and then "Themes." Click on the "Add New" button and upload the Astra theme. Once installed, click on the "Activate" button.
Setting Up the Site
Now that we have our theme installed, let’s set up our site. Click on the "Customize" button and select the "Starter Templates" option. Choose the "Local Business" template, which is a great starting point for most websites.
Adding a Logo
To add a logo to your website, click on the "Logo" option on the left-hand side of the dashboard. Click on the "Upload" button and select the logo you want to use. You can also add a custom logo by clicking on the "Select" button.
Configuring Colors and Fonts
To configure the colors and fonts on your website, click on the " Colors" and "Fonts" options on the left-hand side of the dashboard. You can choose from a variety of pre-designed color schemes and fonts, or create your own custom styles.

To add pages and posts to your website, click on the "Pages" and "Posts" options on the left-hand side of the dashboard. You can create new pages and posts, or edit existing ones.
Configuring the Menu
To configure the menu on your website, click on the "Menus" option on the left-hand side of the dashboard. You can add new menu items, customize the menu layout, and change the menu styles.
Publishing the Site
Once you’ve completed all the steps above, you can publish your website by clicking on the "Publish" button. Your website will now be live and accessible to the public.
