How to add custom MX records for a domain

Tutorial Hosting
An MX or mail record is used to direct email to a  specific mail server. Today, we’ll show you how to   configure a custom MX record in your Namecheap account. First of all, you’ll need to have your

Domain pointed to our Basic DNS, Premium DNS or  Free DNS name servers. If your DNS is all sorted,  start by logging in to your Namecheap account.  Then, select ‘Domain List’ from the left sidebar,   find the domain you wish to configure the MX  records for and click on the ‘Manage’ button

Next to it. Then you need to navigate to the  ‘Advanced DNS’ tab and scroll down a bit to   find the ‘Mail Settings’ section. Now, let’s show  you how to create custom MX records which are   used with third-party mail services like cPanel webmail, Zoho mail, Outlook.com, and so on. Once the

‘Custom MX’ option is selected from the drop-down,  enter the values for the MX record. Please note   that the values for the MX record that you can see on the screen here are just an example. The correct

Values should be checked with your email service  provider. For example, in order to add the mx record   ’10 @ mail.hostingprovider.com’, enter ‘@’ in the ‘Host’ field, then ‘mail.hostingprovider.com’ in the ‘Value’ field, and set ‘Priority’ to ’10’. Then click ‘Save All Changes’.

If you need to configure additional MX records, just click on the ‘Add New Record’ button.   Normally, it takes 30 minutes for the newly created records to take effect. And that’s   it! Thank you for watching if you have any  questions, please post them under this video.
