But it is actually quite unique among the others. In this review I explain how. Hello everyone, what's up, it's Andy! And today I am here with a detailed review of the Siteground web hosting platform. And first, I want to talk about what exactly web hosting is and why websites need it. So what is web hosting? Well, whenever you create a website, it has to live somewhere, right? Now, I know that the internet can sometimes seem like a magical place with everything floating around, but in reality everything has to exist and live somewhere. Therefore, all websites are based on a hosting platform. These platforms provide the servers on which the website can live, such as physical servers or cloud hosting, which manage and store all the information and structure of your website. They also keep loading time short and help your website handle high volumes of traffic. Basically, it provides a place for your website. And a good web hosting service helps your website run well, which in turn improves the performance and SEO of a website. And that brings me to SiteGround – is it a good web hosting service? Let's get into it. So what does SiteGround offer first? Well, SiteGround offers users both shared hosting and cloud hosting. Shared hosting, where multiple websites share a physical server, is best suited for small and medium-sized businesses such as blogs or small online shops. Cloud hosting, on the other hand, provides users with virtual servers that can handle larger amounts of traffic and is therefore best suited for large online stores, news sites or web-based applications. Shared hosting starts at $3.99 per month while cloud hosting plans start at $100. So we can see that these two options appeal to very different target groups based on their pricing alone. I would say their shared plan starts at $3.99 per month, but depending on what add-ons you want, it could go up to $10.69 per month if you don't have discounts. That's why I've included a link with a coupon code in the description below so you can save additional money. Other than that, the shared option offers some incredible features that ensure you get top-notch service. So let's talk about what these features are. Therefore, all of their plans offer free SSL certificates, which are an important part of website security. Plans also include email accounts, automatic daily backups, unlimited bandwidth, and built-in caching, which can help your website run better over time. No matter which plan you choose, you'll have all the essentials for a strong website. Therefore, SiteGround offers three plans as part of shared hosting: StartUp, GrowBig and GoGeek. And the StartUp plan is the cheapest option and is suitable for either blogs, portfolios or small businesses building their online presence. It includes a website, 10 gigabytes of storage and can accommodate 10,000 monthly visits. And so the next tier plan is the GrowBig plan which costs $6.69 per month and is a great plan for a business. It can host an unlimited number of websites, offers 20 gigabytes of storage, and can accommodate 100,000 visitors per month, which is huge. Additionally, you get on-demand backups and some other handy features. I have to say that this plan may not work if you are an agency or freelancer developing websites for clients, as 20 gigabytes is probably not suitable for that amount of websites. Their top plan now is GoGeek, which hits the previously mentioned price of $10.69 per month. And honestly, it delivers. GoGeek has unlimited websites, 40 gigabytes of storage, and websites can host 400,000 visitors per month. In addition, users receive a so-called white label hosting panel. However, from a business perspective, some people may notice plans moving from the $10 per month shared plan to the $100 per month cloud hosting with no middle ground. Typically, most web hosting services offer some kind of middle ground known as VPS or Dedicated Hosting. However, SiteGround has decided to stay away from this middle option. Thank you for watching.
