All right I’m gonna walk you through a couple things we’re gonna need to use WordPress this uh for this summer semester um to get to the WordPress we’re going to use a product called dreamhost I like it because it’s uh got a monthly pan of 4.95 you’ll probably need this for at

Least two months and you can use it possibly longer than that it gets a lot cheaper if you go um more than a month to month but I’m just going to show you how to use it real quick so if you look I’m in my active plan I’ve got a 495 shared

Starter plan uh it should be good enough for our needs if you go to websites manage websites um you’ll see that the website you’ll have this is just the one that just comes with it um that’s what you want so you want to say like go ahead and create create a new

Website right so and once you get to this point you’re going to want to install WordPress okay so you just click on the install button it says select your domain you should just have whatever domain that they gave you you don’t need to have a you don’t

Need to attach a domain to it and just click next and then here it says what’s the purpose I just say none like I’m gonna just I want to do my own so I’m just going to say none and then recommend public plugins these are both fine and I would say install

So and then it’s going to take just a little bit of time to do the install so you’ll notice it’s doing an install right here this is uh it might not look like this up here this was from a previous version that I did a test on to

Make sure that the dreamhost will work so it’s kind of like a cache copy but it will do the install it’ll go all the way through when it gets finished we’ll continue from there all right when it finishes you’ll see that the bar goes all the way across and

Then it’s finished at this point um I think you just click on it maybe you say manage come into it maybe click manage here yeah now it’ll take you into your actual WordPress install that’s what this is so it says welcome to WordPress using 6.2 that’s fine just click dismiss and up

Here you can dismiss that and you can dismiss um don’t remind me again okay so at this point you’ll notice that you have one post okay two sample pages and as far as the plugins go three plugins okay um so you don’t have a whole lot here

There’s you know just basic your basic user and stuff like that in order to get into this and manage this you’re gonna do it from the dreamhost so you log into your dream host and you say I want to manage this and it takes you right into

Your WordPress install if you want to view what your WordPress install looks like you just say visit site and this is what it’s going to look like okay so this right here is a short three minute video on how to get to this point
