In today's video I want to review GoDaddy as a WordPress hosting and tell you whether it offers good value for money or not. You see, GoDaddy is probably the most well-known and popular hosting platform on the market. However, whether it's good or not may not be the best thing I wanted to cover in this short review. So let's go ahead and start the video. GoDaddy WordPress Hosting Review Essentially, GoDaddy is very well known for its domain, resale, first of all and as a domain registration but also as a website hosting company. And they are extremely notable because their ads are spread all over the internet. However, that doesn't necessarily make them a good hosting company. See, GoDaddy isn't actually one of my favorite hosting companies for a few reasons. I think they rank in comparison to many of the better known hosting companies on the market today. Some of these reasons are, first of all, upselling. Although their original plans seem cheap and reasonably priced. Keep in mind that the price is somewhat not fantastic, but the price seems reasonable. However, upselling soon puts a stop to this. When GoDaddy sells their plans, they don't sell you all the features you need in a single plan. Instead, they resell it. So if you need these additional features, you will have to pay more per feature. And you may end up paying a lot more per month than if you went with an alternative host, one of which I'll mention in a moment. Another big problem with GoDaddy is that their customer support is notoriously poor. GoDaddy WordPress Hosting Review It might be an issue with how big they have become. But their customer support has terrible response time and overall very, very bad reviews. They are known for being very poor support even on a good day. So if you're looking for good customer support and aren't particularly confident in your hosting abilities, GoDaddy is definitely not the platform you want to use – it just doesn't really match up. And their performance and uptime are just average. For this reason, I recommend choosing a different host type or hosting company. The company I actually recommend is going to be a company called Scalar Host and they forego the upselling section where I mentioned that GoDaddy has upsold a lot of their features.
