Transcript. Hello everyone Carson, in today's video I will be reviewing GoDaddy as a web hosting company. Now I have reviewed many web hosting companies till date and since I am an influencer I get special access to all the platforms. This way I can test them and judge for you how good these platforms are. Also just a reminder: if you like my content, remember to leave a like, subscribe and hit the notification bell so you can stay up to date with all my latest uploads. Now if you want a very condensed version of this review, I would just like to tell you that GoDaddy is not in my top websites, in my top web hosting sites of all time, in fact they are not in my top 10. However, if you mean favorite hosting websites, I have a link in the description where you can read my review of them. However, with that out of the way, let's get started with this review. Now GoDaddy is personally a pretty good web host. And for reasons I'll get into later, they're not my favorite, but in general they're a good, well-rounded web hosting company. Now, GoDaddy has significantly reduced the prices of its plans over the years. They used to be so expensive that it wasn't really worth even considering them as a platform. But they lowered their prices, they did a turnaround and actually made their prices much cheaper than what they were originally selling for. Another advantage of GoDaddy worth mentioning is that there are about one or 25 different applications and CMS or content management systems that you can install with one click. So now if you want to experiment with a lot of different systems, I don't recommend that because usually it's good to just stick with a very popular system like WordPress, but if you want to play around that's an advantage to you. Now GoDaddy is actually achieving an average uptime of around 99 percent and 94%, which isn't as good as some of the top companies that can even reach 99 percent and 99 percent uptime, but it's still a decent uptime and the Most people wouldn't complain about it. The difference isn't so big that most people who host their website on GoDaddy would notice. Unless you put in all the numbers, calculate them and track them, you won't be able to figure out that their uptime is only 99 dot 94 instead of something like 99 dot 99. As you can see, I'm here at godaddy.com right now, looking some of their hosting plans. They start at around 299 per month. Although that's not great, it's not the cheapest you can get, but it's still a very good deal and definitely on the cheaper end of all website hosting. Now the price increases quite a bit if you are interested in WordPress or WordPress eCommerce hosting and can cost up to 699 or 1599. But in general, GoDaddy has pretty good prices for its web hosting plans. As I said, they used to be a lot more expensive, but they have lowered their prices a bit to compete with some of the newer, better web hosts on the market. Now let's talk about some of the disadvantages of GoDaddy. Well, their basic plans don't offer many features that you would want. For example, many of the top web hosts I reviewed all offer free SSL certificates listed in my favorites. They have really good security backups and website migration features with their hosting plans. However, GoDaddy is missing almost all of these features from their plans, they don't offer any of them, it's just a basic plan. Essentially, if you want SSL, you have to pay extra and then set it up on your website. And that's a pretty big problem, especially for newer hosts. Another problem is that their uptime is not very consistent. And if you measure it month by month, you see some really interesting problems. Sometimes uptime can drop to as low as 99.8% during these periods. Affiliate link disclaimer: If you click the links in the description and book a hosting provider, we may receive a commission.
