Well, that depends. If you're looking for a website builder that has an incredible amount of options, gives you a lot of freedom when editing your web pages, and is easy and intuitive to use, then Wix really is the best option on the market. However, if you're looking for a builder that's more structured, meaning less creative freedom, or that's ideal for creating blogs, you'll probably want to look at other options like WordPress and Squarespace. So in this review I'm going to focus on Wix and show you the features that make it great and not so great in some situations. I'll also compare it to some of its competitors over time so you can ultimately decide whether Wix is a good fit for you or not. Now I also include links in the description where you can take advantage of free trials, discounts, or special promotions for Wix. So feel free to take advantage of it if you want. So let's start by talking about the templates. The templates are truly one of the best things about Wix, especially because there are so many of them. So, if you are a teacher and want to set up an online tutoring practice, you can use a special template for this. Or if you're a photographer and need to create a website to showcase your portfolio, there are tons of pages of templates to choose from. Aside from its versatility, another great thing about Wix is the fact that it offers templates for very specific services. For example, there is a template for a trip to the cinema, a sports psychology consultant, a classic car, a garage and even a chicken farm. And what's really cool and helpful is that these templates are named after the business practice or purpose they were designed for. Therefore, this layout is much more useful than other website builders like WordPress, where the templates are given vague names like “Ocean WP” and “Nav”. Although these names sound really cool, they don't give you any helpful information about the template. In comparison, Wix makes it much easier for you to search and find the type of website you are looking for by using names like “IT Services” or “Student Resume.” Now let’s zoom in a little and talk about the elements of your website. For example, the text box shapes, photos, and navigation menu are examples of elements. And Wix really does a great job here, giving you all of these options for themed text tiles and paragraphs, as well as tons of options for images, buttons, gallery layouts, decorative elements, embeds, etc. Repeat elements are now also available. However, a potential downside is that it can be difficult to make a decision because there are so many options. This can make creating a website a little more difficult for those who can't find a template and don't have a clear idea of what they want their website to look like. Next, let's talk about how we put the whole thing together using the editor. The Wix Editor is easy and intuitive to use. So you don't need any technical knowledge to set up your website. And there are many ways to edit each individual element. A really interesting option is animation. As you can see, there are many ways to animate your elements. Once you choose an option, you can further customize it by changing the number of spins, direction, and even duration. Wix also has a huge integrated app market with more than 250 apps in various categories, such as live chat and online booking. However, keep in mind that this is limited compared to the number of apps that other website builders offer. For example, Squarespace has around 1,000 apps on its marketplace, but the real winner is WordPress, which offers over 57,000 plugins.
