Hostinger Review 2024: Affordable, but how good is it?

I’ve been experimenting with website design and creation for quite some time now, and after trying out dozens of web hosting services and hearing about them, I can honestly say that finding the right one took me years. With so many options and opinions, and technical jargon to navigate, I managed to find a company called Hostinger, and I’ve decided to do this review to give you an idea of what they’re like and whether or not I’d recommend them based on my experience. Spoiler alert: I do!
Before I get into the details, I just want to say that in this video, I’ll be talking about their features and trying to explain some of the more technical aspects in a way that’s easy to understand. I’ll also be covering the pros and cons of using Hostinger, as well as their plans and pricing, so that by the end of this video, you can decide whether they’re the right web hosting platform for you or not.
What is Hostinger?
Hostinger is a web hosting company that was founded in 2004. They primarily provide web hosting services, but recently branched out into web development as well. In 2019, they launched an AI-powered web development tool that minimizes the work it takes to build a website by letting AI do some of the basic work for you.
Signing up with Hostinger is simple. You just need to enter your details, pay for your plan, and then you’ll be taken to the tools dashboard where you can get started on building your website or moving your existing website onto their platform. If you’re hesitant to sign up for a paid plan or you’re new to web development and hosting, they do have a 30-day free trial, so you can experiment and make sure you understand what you’re getting into before paying anything.
Features and Plans
Hostinger offers four different plans, each with each plan having its own set of features. Here’s a breakdown of what you get with each plan:
- Single Plan: $2/month, includes AI SEO recommendation tool, drag-and-drop website builder, AI website builder, 150 pre-made templates, Google Analytics integration, marketing integration, 1 email account, 50 gigs of storage, 1-year SSL, and 100 gigs of bandwidth per month.
- Premium Plan: $2.89/month, includes everything from the Single Plan, plus the ability to host up to 100 websites, 100 gigs of storage, unlimited bandwidth, and a free domain name.
- Business Plan: Business Plan: $4.29/month, includes everything from the Premium Plan, plus faster performance, 200 gigs of storage, e-commerce features like WooCommerce integration, 0% transaction fees on purchases made through your website, and 20 different payment methods.
- Cloud Startup Plan: $10.99/month, includes everything from the Business Plan, plus the ability to build and host up to 300 websites, 10 times faster performance, dedicated domain name, priority support, and the data center nearest to you.
Negatives
Now that we’ve covered the features and plans, let’s talk about some of the negative issues I found when using Hostinger. I promise to be 100% honest, so I’ll cover everything.
One negative issue is that Hostinger doesn’t offer a lot in terms of security for your site. They do give you a limited version of NordVPN, which includes a great antivirus and firewall, but if you want full protection, you’ll have to pay extra. Another negative issue is that their system is pretty basic, which can be a good thing for some people, but for others, it might not be enough.
Positives
Despite the negatives, I still think Hostinger is a great option for a lot of reasons. First, it’s incredibly cost-effective, and they include a lot of high-quality features even on their most basic plan. Second, their web development tools are really easy to use, which means even a novice can build their own site without having to spend too much time figuring out how to get a sleek and professional-looking final product.
I also really like their VPS service, which is basically a VPN combined with a server and creates a much more secure and well-hidden server. This is ideal for companies that deal with sensitive data like financial information or Social Security numbers.
Conclusion
Would I recommend Hostinger? Absolutely! Despite not offering as much space and choices in terms of protection as some other companies, I think Hostinger is by far the most straightforward and easy-to-use web hosting service I’ve come across in my journey so far. They’re fast, reliable, and make updates and site maintenance a breeze, which gives you more time to focus on actually running your business and your life.
