There are just so many companies  to choose from these days. Should you go with a well-known name  such as GoDaddy or Hostgator or with  

A lesser-known company like today’s  subject in this video, HostPapa. So based in Canada, HostPapa is  a web host for small businesses. The reality however is that,  their shared hosting prices   are low enough that they are open to  anyone who needs to build a website.

The big question however is whether  HostPapa is the right choice for you or not,   so to help you decide, I’ve assessed  it on its reliability, their features,   value for money and performance and give  you all the details in this HostPapa review.

And any time if you want to jump right  into the Pricing & Discounts, I will have   a Discounted link in the video description  & in the First pinned comment down below. So, let’s get right into it. About the reliability, so HostPapa’s uptime  is fairly standard and around 99.97%.

Now that is a very good number & it’s  impossible to expect a company to have 100%   uptime because obviously maintenance happens  quite frequently especially on the Internet. Nevertheless you do want a company that  offers as close to perfect as possible.

A 99.97% uptime amounts to less than three hours  of downtime per year, now that is a great number   and offers a high level of reliability whether  you’re planning to run a blog or a shopfront. Alright next up, let’s talk about features. So HostPapa’s basic web hosting  plan which they call Starter,  

Use the mix of standard features you’ll  find anywhere as well as a few surprises. First off its lower tier price allows you to  host up to one website on your account & that   is quite normal since most web hosts allow  a single website on its most basic plan.

This starter package also has what the  company calls essential features which   includes a Free Website transfer, cloudfare CDN,  One-on-One training, Free SSL via Let’s Encrypt,   cPanel control panel, Starter Website builder,  24/7 support and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Hostpapa also offers a free domain when  you pay for a full year of web hosting.

This feature is often hit or miss which  some web host offer and some don’t,   so what’s key here is that Hostpapa  does and it doesn’t seem to be any   hidden fees for that free domain as they  are with some other hosting providers.

The startup package also allows for 100  gigabytes of disk space for your website   which is a good amount of storage & more  than you’ll need for a very very long time. It’s not an Unlimited amount that some web hosts  offer, but it’s as good or better than some of  

The bigger hosting companies and, Hostpapa  also offers a limited bandwidth, though you   can be penalized for excessive use, which is  also not uncommon, as Hostpapa describes it,   the company’s policy is to deliver all the  hardware resources a typical website needs  

Even at times of increased traffic, without  costing you extra, which seems reasonable to me. Next up here we have help and support. So Hostpapa support starts with its knowledge base   which is a series of support  articles organized by topic. This is the best place to start  when you have some basic questions  

About how to get started with a new  product or add-on you have purchased. If you search for HostPapa forums, you’ll  also find a page that is supposed to host   a community forum with fellow customers answer  each other’s questions, however there is currently  

Little content on the forum page, but when you  need advanced help, HostPapa does offer a Live   chat and 24 7 phone support, so if your just  wondering if it’s a problem with your server,   HostPapa has a network Status page to highlight  any problems that are currently going on.

Right now the page also lists any  planned maintenance that is coming up. And last but not least let’s talk about HostPapa’s  pricing and the general value for money. Before I get into the pricing of the  plans, Please make sure that you know,  

That the names & the pricing of the plans  may change a little time to time ,so you   can just click the link in the description  below to check their current offerings. So HostPapa’s pricing for Shared web hosting  ranges from $3.95 per month with a 3 year  

Commitment, upto $20.00 per month for the  Pro plan without a special offer price. If you opt for the dedicated  WordPress hosting plan,   that offers better performance and  specialized support for WordPress blogs,   you can pay the same $3.95 per month with a 3 year  commitment up to $22 per month for the Pro level.

Now if you’re interested in VPS hosting,  there are 5 different pricing tiers,   ranging from $50 per month all  the way up to $300 per month. So in conclusion, HostPapa offers pretty  good packages and value for its price,   especially at the lower ends.

The drawback is that, you have to  commit to 3 years to get the best price,   though that is not an uncommon practice  in the hosting world, so it doesn’t have   the most comprehensive packages either with  providers like Hostgator and Bluehost but,  

You do have more choice and more features,  however if you are just looking to support   one of the only independent hosting companies  out there today, Hostpapa could be worth a shot. They’re a solid company that are pretty reliable   and offer great features  at very reasonable prices.
